Fishbones of Islington

Having returned to Islington from Old Street after delightful toddler duty, I suddenly felt free and hungry and headed backwards from the Overground to Budgens .. this place never disappoints, when it comes to spearing a fish .. In this case it was a whole plaice ..£3 for bony heaven

We have a ..temperamental oven..so in it goes for ..10 minutes? Make it 12
Out it comes ..looking a tad anaemic ..so back in the fry pan!

Utterly butterly gorgeous with young spinach “cooked” with hot water from the kettle and mushrooms probably past their sell by, roasted alive in the defunct oven!
