Pizza Rossa – Passion by the slice!
I had my first “square pizza” in an artisanal pizza place in Rome’s Trastevere. I stumbled upon it and couldn’t believe the choice of toppings..my favourite slice had potato and garlic as prime ingredients! I was instantly hooked. I shall be heading over to Leadenhall Street tomorrow, to see what is on offer. Shall I find a similar slice of pizza heaven? Fingers crossed. I’ll keep you posted.
ps the first 300 slices of pizza served on Friday, 6, that’s Opening Day are free of charge, so if you live or work nearby, get along at lunchtime.
Happy to report that the pizza was incredibly light and tasty
as was the vegetarian lasagne
as indeed was the tiramisu ! The latter was one of the best I’ve tasted in a while, all down to its lightness.
The space too, light, airy and uncluttered, a slice of relaxed Italian offering a much needed respite from the congested and clogged city streets surrounding. The pizza square had that crunchy crispness underneath that is supposed to ward off stress…a city bonus .. alongside some winning Sardinian touches to the design…pretty cool popup in the square mile!! Realistic pricing for such high quality. Pop in and see for yourself, next time you’re near Leadenhall Market.
