a quirky look at London Life

By The Way (Liz Simcock with Dave Ellis and Boo Howard)

See on Scoop.itMusic for a London Life

Liz Simcock writes songs and performs them in folk and acoustic clubs in and around the Southeast. In 1999 she featured on the Playpen Album of New Acoustic Music alongside Eliza Carthy, Billy Bragg, Eddi Reader and Kathryn Williams.

Since then she has trodden an independent path, recording three albums and gaining a growing reputation as a performer and songwriter. Liz sometimes performs solo but is usually joined by the backing band of her dreams, namely Dave Ellis on guitar and Boo Howard on bass. Dave and Boo perform in their own right as Dave Ellis & Boo Howard. They are seriously good and regulars themselves at TwickFolk over the years.

Ursula O’Reilly Traynor‘s insight:

Liz Simcock is at  Twickfolk @ The Cabbage Patch Pub this

Sunday 19TH JAN, 2014 Doors 7.45pm, Music 8pm to 10.30pm

This is the first time I have heard Liz and I was immediately drawn in to her songs. Her voice is quietly compelling . A voice of experience.
